“You’re a Wedding Florist—What Qualifies You to Offer Interior Design Services?”

“You’re a Wedding Florist—What Qualifies You to Offer Interior Design Services?”

It’s a fair question, and I completely understand where it comes from. But before I answer, let’s clarify something important:

Yes, I have a background in floral design—but more accurately, I am an event designer. Floral design is just one piece of what I bring to the table. My clients aren’t hiring me just for flowers—they hire me to design their weddings. That means I am creating entire environments: the mood, the ambiance, the layout, and the flow of an event from start to finish.

So, what qualifies me to step into interior design? Let’s talk about the overlap between event design and home design—and then you can decide for yourself.

1. I Create Visual Experiences

Whether it’s a wedding or a home, my job is to set a tone, curate a color palette, decide on lighting, and think through the layout of a space. I create environments that feel a certain way, tell a story, and make people feel something the moment they walk in.

2. I Design for Function and Flow

A beautiful space means nothing if it doesn’t function well. In event design, I ensure guests can move easily, servers can navigate the floor, and every detail supports the experience. In home design, it’s the same: I consider how the layout works, how cabinets open, how rooms connect, and how people live in the space.

3. I Personalize Every Project

In both weddings and homes, my job is to get to know my clients. I dig deep into their preferences, styles, likes and dislikes—and then design a space that feels like them. Whether it’s a one-night event or a forever home, the goal is to create something deeply personal and meaningful.

4. I Obsess Over Details

Details matter—a lot. From the hardware on your kitchen cabinets to the candles on your wedding tables, it’s the little things that make a big impact. I think in layers: textures, colors, patterns, and finishes. Good design is never random—it’s intentional, thoughtful, and curated.

5. I Transform Spaces

At my core, I’m a space transformer. Whether I’m starting from a blank slate or working with something outdated and uninspiring, I know how to bring it to life. I layer in movement, story, and soul—creating something that doesn’t just look good, but feels like home. Even in event spaces, we’re crafting a feeling of family, belonging, and identity.

So yes—I may have started in weddings. But design is design. And my passion for creating beautiful, functional, soul-filled spaces has only grown. Whether it’s for a celebration or a forever home, I’m here to bring your vision to life.

PS – can we just take a minute to appreciate how similar that duvet cover and wedding table linen are?? What can I say, I like what I like!
